Yes! Core features like meal logging, symptom tracking, barcode scanning, and basic insights are completely free. Premium features (AI meal scanning, menu analysis, wellness reports, meal suggestions) are available with a subscription starting at $4.99/month or $19.99/year with a 7-day free trial.
No. BiteSafe works entirely without an account. All your data is stored locally on your device. There's no sign-up, no email verification, and no cloud sync required.
Take a photo of your meal, and our AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) identifies the dish, its likely ingredients, and flags any that match your allergen profile. Photos are processed in real time and are never stored on our servers.
Your meal logs, symptoms, and profile data stay on your device. Only when you use AI features (meal scanning, food analysis, menu analysis, meal suggestions, wellness reports) is data temporarily sent to our secure server for processing. Photos and data are discarded immediately after analysis — nothing is stored.
No. BiteSafe is a tracking and pattern-finding tool, not a medical diagnostic device. The "Possible Triggers" and insights features help you spot patterns that you can then discuss with your doctor or allergist. Always consult a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment.
Only you. BiteSafe stores everything locally on your device. We don't have analytics SDKs, we don't track usage behavior, and we don't sell data. The only time data leaves your device is when you actively use an AI feature, and even then, it's processed and immediately discarded.
Go to More tab > Data section > Reset All Data. This permanently removes all meals, symptoms, profile data, and usage counters from your device. Since no data is stored on our servers, deletion is complete and immediate.
Open your iPhone Settings > tap your name at the top > Subscriptions > BiteSafe > Cancel Subscription. Your premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. Subscriptions are managed by Apple.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund. If you started with a free trial and cancel before it ends, you won't be charged.
BiteSafe is available in 6 languages: English, Turkish, German, Spanish, Italian, and Simplified Chinese. You can change the language from within the app without changing your device language.
The barcode scanner uses the OpenFoodFacts database, which covers millions of products worldwide. However, some regional or newly released products may not be listed. When a product isn't found, you'll see the option to log it manually. The app supports EAN-8/13, UPC, Code128, and DataMatrix barcodes.
